ANIM 126 - Assignment 9 Style
For this assignment I chose a cool-looking area in Metropolis in Metrotown

And I chose Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends for the style

The scene I had in mind... but I had to take out the handrail because I would have to include the elevator on the side -- and we only had a week to do this to begin with! D8
This is the finished product. (Done in Flash)
From doing this assignment I found out I really like design-y layouts. Maybe I can experiment with something like this over the summer.

ANIM 126 - Assignment 8 Colour

The only light source is from the blue-ish glow coming from the engine of a mechanical dragon that had just flown off. Some of the light is reflected off the broken bits of floor decoration candy. The cotton candy storm makes it hard for the light to reach the spiral lollipop way back in the middle, and the layers of sugar crystals on the outer walls makes a weaker reflection. There is also ambient light coming from all around. The shadows are created from the engine located in the sky. There isn't any distinguishable speculars. The focus point in the scene is supposed to be on a character that watches the dragon. The focus point is that little ledge with the broken cinnamon heart floor deco candy. I made the lines darker to stand out from the lighter/blurred ones. I was hoping the cotton candy storm would steer the eye or make the focus point clearer. Some of the broken shards of the candy windows are pointed in the direction as well. This is supposed to be a three point perspective, but since the horizon line is invisible I guess it is a two point. The background object colours have been desaturated. Sugar crystals in the air are brighter since some of them may catch the light from the engine. This layout is mainly dark in value, but I tried to separate dark areas from lighter areas evenly.
I was aiming for atmosphere....

ANIM 126 - Assignment 4 Two Point Perspective
Assignment 4
1.) Two Point Perspective Layout
I really shouldn't do things in digital anymore. (too much fun I got carried away! 8D;;;)
It was okay for the picture to be sketchy, so I didn't add all the detail I wanted to add to it. After I find the time I'd like to complete this -- it looks so terribly dull the way it is now, wouldn't you think?
2.) Draw lines showing horizon and vanishing points in 3 two point perspective pictures.
